Dental Veneers

What are dental veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells of porcelain or composite resin that are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth. They are used to enhance the appearance of teeth by improving their shape, size, color, and alignment.

Who is a good candidate for veneers?

You may be a good candidate if you have:

  • Discolored or stained teeth
  • Chipped, worn, or broken teeth
  • Minor misalignment or gaps
  • Uneven or irregularly shaped teeth
  • Strong, healthy enamel and gums

Your dentist will assess your smile and oral health before recommending veneers.

What are the benefits of veneers?

  • Natural, aesthetic appearance
  • Durable and stain-resistant (especially porcelain veneers)
  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Long-lasting results
  • Immediate improvement in smile confidence

What types of veneers are available?

At Align O Clinic, we offer:

Porcelain Veneers

Highly aesthetic, strong, stain-resistant, and long-lasting

Composite Veneers

More affordable, quicker to apply, but may wear or stain over time

No-Prep Veneers (in select cases)

Minimal or no enamel removal required

What is the process of getting veneers?

Here's how the treatment typically progresses:

Step 1: Consultation & Smile Assessment

We evaluate your smile, discuss your goals, and determine if veneers are suitable for you.

Step 2: Digital or Manual Impressions

Photos and impressions of your teeth are taken to plan your smile design.

Step 3: Tooth Preparation (if needed)

A thin layer of enamel is removed to accommodate the veneer (porcelain only). Temporary veneers may be placed.

Step 4: Veneer Fabrication

Porcelain veneers are custom-made in a lab (takes 1–2 weeks). Composite veneers can be applied chairside in a single visit.

Step 5: Bonding

Once ready, the veneers are tried in, adjusted for fit and color, and permanently bonded to your teeth.

Step 6: Follow-Up

A review appointment ensures fit, comfort, and your satisfaction with your new smile.

Are veneers permanent?

Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent cosmetic procedure since a small amount of enamel is usually removed. While the veneers may eventually need to be replaced after 10–15 years, the underlying tooth will always require coverage.

Will veneers damage my natural teeth?

No. Veneers are a safe cosmetic option when placed by a trained dentist. Only a minimal amount of enamel is removed, and the natural tooth structure is preserved as much as possible.

How long do veneers last?

  • Porcelain veneers typically last 10–15 years or more with proper care
  • Composite veneers may last 4–7 years.

Longevity depends on oral hygiene, habits (e.g., grinding), and regular dental visits.

How do I care for my veneers?

  • Brush and floss daily as you would natural teeth
  • Avoid biting hard objects (ice, pens, etc.)
  • Use a night guard if you grind your teeth
  • Attend regular dental check-ups for maintenance

What's the difference between veneers and crowns?

Veneers cover only the front surface of the tooth and are mainly cosmetic. Crowns cover the entire tooth and are used when more structural support is needed due to damage or decay.
